Scientific Validation

AirOcare has a strong commitment to scientific inquiry and validation. One of our strongest attributes is our ability to give customers scientific information and real-life validation of our products in their business applications. This ability helps position AirOcare at the forefront of air and surface sanitization.

The benefits of AirOcare's technology have been demonstrated over the years in numerous customer facilities across a variety of applications. In addition, AirOcare's technology has been validated by a number of independent, subject- matter experts at universities, public/government institutions and research labs. We continue to substantially invest in scientific research to further document and validate the benefits of our technology in killing viruses, bacteria and molds. Below is a summary of key scientific results:

  • 5-6 log reduction (i.e., over a 99.9% reduction) in as little as 2 hours and effective destruction of all contaminant levels within 24 hours: Norovirus, mRSA, influenza A and Rhinovirus on steel, plastic and linoleum surfaces
(Food Safety and Process Technology, Inc.)
  • 99% reduction of E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria and Pseudonomas after 12 hours of treatment
    (Kansas State University)
  • Elimination of Stachybotrys which is the bacteria that causes “Sick Building Syndrome"
    (Numerous Customer Sites)
  • 99.9% reduction in Listeria monocytogenes on stainless steel surfaces in as little as 30 minutes of exposure. Additional tests conducted, with similar results achieved, on the surface of fresh cut vegetables
(Food Safety and Process Technology, Inc.)
  • 20% plus reduction of ammonia levels in a hog production facility
    (Iowa State University Study)
  • 3-4 log reduction (a 3 log reduction equates to 99.9%) of airborne meat bacteria (Serratia marcescens and lactic acid bacteria) within 2 hours.  These bacteria cause spoilage of fresh and ready-to-eat meats
(USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Beltsville, MD)
  • 99.9% reduction in Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes on surfaces and air inside refrigerated display cases used for a variety of foods including meats and produce
    (Scientific Air Solutions, Inc.)
  • Elimination of noxious odors associated with waste disposal – trash rooms, loading docks, sewage pits
    (Numerous Customer Sites)

To assist AirOcare in our scientific research and validation, we work with a number of recognized subject-matter experts in an advisory and independent testing role. More information on these individuals and their research will be provided upon request.
